Among the books I've read with abuse as the main theme, I find this to be one of the hardest to read. The story is nicely written though that you can't help but empathize with the main characters. As a reader, you will also feel Evie's pain, however there were also times that I want to question her own sanity for putting up with that psycho Tony! Oh well I guess that's love... or fear? Nevertheless I still want to comfort her, hug her, and be amazed with her strength. Zeke on the other hand, I admire. Despite what he went through or still going through, he never fails to look after his sister and making her his priority. Bad choices along the way considered. Since this is only a prologue (say what?!) I will not rate it just yet. For the meantime, I will anxiously wait for the next installment especially with that cliffhanger!
